A course that looks at the food we eat and explores healthy and nutritional ways we can prepare food without costing too much.
Join in cooking together each week with lots of great recipe ideas!

Learning outcomes include:

  • Make recipes from scratch individually and describe what changes could be made to suit store cupboard foods.
  • Describe the Eatwell Guide and how it can help achieve a balanced diet and explain what makes a healthy and unhealthy diet.
  • List the key nutrients and describe why we need them to keep us healthy.
  • Describe what a macronutrient is and give two examples whilst outlining what their functions are in the diet.
  • Identify how to access a website on your mobile phone/iPad to get new ideas for recipes.

This course is open to all learners aged 19+ with low or no qualifications.

The course will run weekly – every Wednesday – from 3rd February to 31st March 2021
