We’re going on a Bear Hunt! Family First Aid made fun. Join in the fun and learn how to deal with accidents that could happen along the way. Get the book free too!

Increase your skills and self confidence in dealing with paediatric emergencies and managing illnesses and injuries safely. The course takes place on Zoom and help will be given to get started.

Learning outcomes include:

  • Describe how to stem the flow of blood and apply a bandage correctly
  • Recognise tick bites and list what can we do to treat it
  • Discuss what to do on poisoning, choking and suffocation – can it happen in mud!
  • List steps to resuscitate a patient who has drowned.
  • Demonstrate the recovery position and state when and how you would do it.
  • Recognise hypothermia and frost bite in a snow storm
  • Would meeting a bear cause shock! Describe how to deal correctly with shock

The course will run weekly – every Monday – from 1st March to 29th March 2021

To be eligible for this course, you must be a parent or carer (19+) with few or no formal qualifications who wants to learn first aid new skills and increase confidence to deal with an emergency.
