About this course

This course is for sewers to upcycle old garments, learn further skills and work on group projects to recycle and re-use. For any ‘beginner’ sewers joining this group, they will learn new skills in the first 6 weeks that will support their own repair/recycle projects for the last 4 weeks

Learning outcomes include:

  • Identify next steps including training or community roles
  • Reflect on and record skills learnt
  • Choose and create small individual projects to complete
  • Develop sewing knowledge and techniques
  • Encourage confidence to share ideas within a group
  • Gives opportunity for social interactions with different peer groups from our parent community
  • Learn how to refashion clothing and understand importance of recycling
  • Explore low cost ideas for clothing for family members

This course is open to anyone (aged 19 plus)  interested in sewing from the Hannah More Community. This can be new learners and others who have previously completed sewing courses at school.

This course will run weekly every Tuesday  from 23rd April –  2nd July 2024
