Level 1 Award in Passport to Enterprise and Employment

The course is aimed at encouraging learners to discover their own enterprising character, by identifying the key characteristics. They will plan how to develop their own enterprising character and take part in activities that will enable them to reflect of their strengths and areas for progression. They will be able to explain the importance of market research, demonstrate how to reach their customers and be able to reflect on how to gauge customer satisfaction. They will learn the basic concepts of marketing – including the use of social media and online platforms.  Finally they will take part in problem solving activities in order to be able to apply this to work based situations, incorporating the FBV.

The course will equip learners to gain the skills and confidence needed to start their own business or find employment.

Learning outcomes include:

  • Be able to describe elements of enterprising character traits, how they can be seen as positive and negative.
  • Learner will be able to identify their own character traits and how these can affect themselves and others.
  • Be able to describe how a business can reach their customers.
  • Be able to describe how to measure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify different types of problems that might be encountered in a place of work relating to people, tasks and resources.
  • Describe and demonstrate how problems can be solved.
  • Demonstrate methods to create a solution for problem and decide what solution is the best option.
  • Be able to explain the need to carry out market research for a business

This course is aimed at learners aged 19+ years.

The course will run for five days – Weds 26th, Thurs 27th, Friday 28th February &  Thurs 5th, Friday 6th March 2020
