About this course

A practical and friendly course to get you started using a laptop and to give you the opportunity to improve your digital skills. This short course will help you get started with using a laptop. You will learn how to navigate your way around the keyboard, set up an email if needed with a safe password, use the internet safely and more.

Learning outcomes include:

  • Navigate my way around the laptop and keyboard
  • Set up a gmail address (if needed) on my own with a strong password
  • Identify 1+ways to stay safe online, avoiding scams and fraud
  • Compose and send an email (with an attachment)
  • Use the internet safely to research information, shop etc
  • Complete an online application form
  • Use Zoom in class  (optional)

The course will run weekly – every Friday from 18th November to 16th December 2022

This course is aimed at adults 50 years plus with few or no formal qualifications but there may be some flexibility if there are spaces on the course.
