ESOL for Health [Online]

This is a 6-week course. You will practice reading and writing, speaking and listening, vocabulary building and grammar. The first part of the course is about communicating with the health services through speaking, telephoning and writing. We look at the types of response required when contacting the NHS emergency services, describing symptoms and reading further information. Further lessons are about prevention by providing an opportunity for discussion and activities about healthy living. There will also be the opportunity to discuss how you may be feeling, where to go for help and accessing information about COVID-19.

Learning objectives include:

  • Describe a range of common symptoms
  • Read about symptoms using the Internet
  • Describe how to use the emergency service
  • Write out a balanced meal to keep healthy
