This course will help learners to gain confidence in using English in everyday life in the UK – including at work, home and in the community.
Learning outcomes include:
- To be able to introduce yourself
- To be able to use 1+ Zoom functions
- To be able to talk about 1+ likes and dislikes eg. food, sport, hobbies.
- Identify foods that are healthy and unhealthy
- To be able to name 1+ body parts and ask for a medical appointment
- To be able to recognise 2+ different access points – health centres, A&E, walk in centres, etc. and their functions.
- To be able to understand and talk about 1+ different celebrations / cultural festivals (Christmas/New Year/Ramadan/Eid/etc.).
This course will take place online using Zoom and google classroom. IT support will be given. It may be possible to loan IT equipment
This course is aimed at learners (aged 19+) who wish to improve their English, and have English as an additional language. This ESOL course is suitable for learners at Pre-Entry and Entry Level 1.
The course will run weekly – every Tuesday – from 27th April to 6th July 2021.
