This course is a conversational class aimed at learners aged 19+ who have English as their second language and encourages practice and development in English communication skills. It is designed to help learners to gain confidence in everyday life including work, school and in the community.Learners will gain knowledge of vocabulary and grammar to develop reading,writing and speaking and listening skills. The course will promote and support integration into the community and provide more opportunities to progress into employment, self employment and further training.

During the current COVID-19 restrictions, the course will be delivered online.

Learning outcomes include:

• Identify communication areas for personal development
• Demonstrate effective communication skills for use in a range of social situations
• Apply knowledge gained in everyday situations.
• Develop communication skills for use in the workplace.
• Practise conversational language to be able to agree or disagree confidently and effectively.

This course is aimed at learners (19+) that have English as a second language who are unemployed, or on a low income or new to the area and need language support to help integrate.

The course will run weekly – every Monday – from 8th February to 29 March 2021.
