About this course

A 6-week maths skills brush-up course for adults wishing to refresh their maths skills for home, work, school or to continue their education. Learn about place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, percentages, fractions and decimals and applying maths to real-life situations with maths problem-solving.

Learning outcomes include:

  • Recall and apply written subtraction methods
  • Recall and apply written division methods
  • Find and convert equivalent fractions
  • Use place value to convert measurement and money
  • Recall and apply written addition methods
  • Recall and apply written multiplication methods
  • Find and convert percentages
  • Convert between percentages, decimals and fractions

This course is for parents of children attending pre-school or primary school. Parents need to be aged 19+ and hold few or no qualifications (i.e. below Level 2)

The course will run weekly – every Friday –  from 4th March to 8th April 2022
