Support for ESOL Learners and Hate Crime
After the EU referendum last June there was a reported spike in cases of hate crime; however it is worth remembering that some of our learners or their friends and families may still be experiencing hate crime in their community or work settings.
Please help support everyone to continue their lives free of this sort of harassment and threat:
Report all incidents you witness or hear about either directly to the police via 101 – or 999 if you actually witness an incident – or via SARI (Stand against Racism and Inequality). See attached poster.
This is a practical way we can all help to minimise the distress and anxiety which race-based harassment and abuse creates in our communities.
