The course will use a mixture of physical activity and classroom based activities to teach learners about the various ways that they can maintain a healthy weight through understanding the sugar in foods, the benefits of physical activity. Identifying what is around them and how they can maintain a balanced lifestyle. It will give learners the information needed to make the right choices when it comes to healthy eating and physical activity. Learners will be asked to:

  • Identify how much sugar is in various foods
  • Design a meal and explain what portion size is right for you
  • Make a list of five healthy snacks
  • Identify activities that you can do during the day to meet activity recommendations
  • Find out what facilities and activity sessions are local to me

This course is aimed at anyone that wants to learn the benefits of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and how to incorporate some activity during the day. It will run on a weekly basis until 25th July 2018.
