Food & Mood Course
This course begins on the 6th June. Please enrol within two weeks of this date
The Food & Mood course looks at how our diet can affect our mental wellbeing.
We will discuss what foods contain vital nutrients for good mental health and consider ways we can make positive changes to our diet to include nutrients. Topics we’ll cover are: The importance of regular eating: the importance of sleep; dehydration; caffeine; carbohydrates; proteins; vitamins; relaxation and breathing exercises. We’ll be cooking some delicious, nutritious meals too!
These courses are part of a national research project looking at the impact of community learning courses on how we feel. The project asks if learning regularly helps us better cope with stress, problems sleeping, finding it hard to go out, worrying, feeling anxious, sad or low. Because of this learners will be asked to complete three mood and wellbeing questionnaires during their course.
Courses are eligible to those with mild to moderate mental health issues and those without.
